Aluminum Anode Kit

The Actuators on each Seakeeper Ride controller have sacrificial anodes that need to be periodically inspected and replaced when about half of the anode has worn down.

Installation

  • Remove the blade by unscrewing the four (4) M8-1.25 x 20mm screws and their washers.
  • Unscrew the two (2) M4-0.7 x 12 mm bolts holding the sacrificial anode.
  • Attach the new aluminum sacrificial anode using the two (2) M4-0.7 x 12mm bolts and tighten to 20 in-lbs (2.3 N-m).
  • Reattach the blade using the four (4) M8-1.25 x 20mm screws and their washers. Be sure to use thread-locking sealant with an activator/primer when reinstalling hardware. Torque these four (4) bolts to 80 in-lbs (9.0 N-m) in an "X" pattern.

What's the difference between a Seakeeper gyro and Seakeeper Ride?

A Seakeeper gyro stabiliser eliminates boat ROLL — the side-to-side rocking — both at rest and underway, using a spinning flywheel below deck. Seakeeper Ride is a Vessel Attitude Control System: blades on the transom act 100 times per second on running trim, eliminating underway pitch and roll before it happens. Simple version: gyro = comfort at rest and trolling speeds; Ride = a dramatically smoother, drier ride underway. Many boats benefit from both.

What warranty do Seakeeper products carry?

Every Seakeeper gyro — from the DC-powered Seakeeper 1, 2, 3 and 4 up to the largest models — carries a 2-year / 2,000-hour complete-system warranty, transferable to a new owner for the unused portion, and only valid once the unit is registered with Seakeeper. Installation and commissioning must follow Seakeeper's guidelines, and the warranty does not cover the installation or foundation design itself, which is why we install and commission them. Extended warranties are available while the factory warranty is current. Seakeeper Ride has its own limited warranty with the same registration and installation conditions.
